Health & Nutrition

Nutritional services primarily consist of the congregate meals (meals provided to a group, such as a senior center) home delivered meals, and to go meals, if offered. Home delivered meal programs are offered through 10 of the Senior Centers in our area. You may contact this office, or your local Senior Center for more information. There is a suggested contribution for the meal, for persons over the age of 60. The suggested contribution varies from Center to Center. You may check with the Center you are visiting as to what the suggested contribution is for that Center. Individuals under the age of 60 are charged for the full cost of the meal.

Senior Centers play a dynamic and important role for older adults. Senior Centers offer many individuals the opportunity to partake in many social activities. Activities may include: dances, billiards, card clubs, picnics, and travel tours, just to name a few. Senior Centers not only provide meals and social activity, they are often times the first place many seniors turn to for help. Senior Centers play a vital role in assuring that an individual, with whatever the need might be, finds assistance.

Other programs, such as health and nutritional counseling, may be provided. These types of programs are contingent on funding and may not be available at all times. You may contact our office to see what health and nutrition programs are currently available.
